the ransomed
The youth ministry at Davidson Baptist Church exists to connect with students in order to train them to imitate Christ and to send them out as excellent, godly young men and women of faith who, by their lifestyles, will transform their homes, schools, churches, workplaces, and world for Jesus Christ. The youth ministry is:
Connected
Youth ministry is a large part of the overall church ministry. We desire to provide a Christ-centered environment that will help develop our youth spiritually, emotionally, physically, socially, and intellectually (Luke 2:52). It is our goal to see the youth at DBC become faithful disciples of Christ maturing in their service and love for the Lord (Matthew 22:37). We believe that they are the future spiritual leaders of this church and desire to involve them in all aspect of church ministry.
Relationship Based
A vital part of The Ransom’s ministry is relationships through modeling, counseling, teaching, praying, supporting, mentoring, training, and discipling. We place a high priority on the teachings found in scripture and communicate its truths not only by word or by action, but by the lifestyles of the leaders and the attempt we make to sharpen the faith of the youth (Proverbs 27:17). All youth leaders strive to gain the trust and respect of the youth as a foundation for personal friendship and discipleship.
Building Our Future
This youth ministry desires to integrate youths into the life of the church body, to prepare them to become leaders now and tomorrow in the church, and to equip the young saints for the work of service (Eph 4:12,13). The youth ministry equips, trains, and develops young men and women for future service in God’s kingdom, whether that be in the secular workplace, the local church, or foreign missions.
Age Diverse
The Ransomed includes a wide variety of age groups from junior high students to college age young adults. We desire to provide a safe environment for youth to be around while their own age while also interacting with older, mature adults and younger children. We hope and pray that through these interactions the youth at DBC will become well-rounded, sensitive individuals.
Programmed Practically
Through a variety of programs, events and outreach, we seek to draw young people into responsible participation in the life, work and mission of Davidson Baptist Church. Here are several events the youth participate in: Summer Serve, Viking Feast, Airsoft Fall Retreat, Summer Missions Trips (Durham N.C.), VBS, Drive Thru Nativity, Concerts, and much more.
